Matched to the region's project pipeline
Giga-projects and long infrastructure programmes across the Gulf need people who can hold strategy, contract and delivery together.
Project management written specifically for construction, not adapted to it. Six units cover leadership, contracts and commercial frameworks, planning and control, sustainability, ethics and research. Assessed by portfolio, awarded by Gatehouse Awards and regulated by Ofqual.
Note: Duration will be based on your experience and it can be advanced bachelors too which differs from prospects to prospects
Construction projects go wrong in ways that generic project management training rarely prepares anyone for: contracts that shift liability in unexpected directions, supply chains with a dozen weak points, regulators asking harder questions than they did five years ago. Gatehouse has written this diploma around those conditions, describing it as covering the theoretical frameworks and applied strategic approaches needed to manage construction projects within complex, regulated and commercially sensitive contexts.
Six mandatory units carry 20 credits each. They run from strategic leadership and organisational direction, through governance and the legal and commercial frameworks, into change and innovation and sustainability, then integrated planning, delivery and control, followed by professional practice and ethics, and finally research methods. All of them are set in construction, so the case material and the vocabulary belong to the sector.
What makes the specification worth reading is how current it is. Gatehouse names the industry priorities it expects learners to engage with by name: building safety, information management, whole-life value, sustainability, supply chain complexity, and shifting regulatory and commercial practice. This is also the only qualification in its Level 7 range for which the awarding body publishes specific target job titles.
Every unit title names construction project management. There is no step where you have to translate a manufacturing example into a site context.
Governance, legal and commercial frameworks are taught together, which is how they actually arrive on a project.
Gatehouse names building safety and evolving regulation among the industry priorities the qualification engages with.
Change, innovation and sustainability form a mandatory unit, and whole-life value is named explicitly in the specification.
Senior project manager, programme manager, project director and commercial lead are named by the awarding body itself, which is rare at this level.
A Portfolio of Evidence means your planning, risk and commercial work becomes the assessment material. No examination is involved.

Giga-projects and long infrastructure programmes across the Gulf need people who can hold strategy, contract and delivery together.
Governance, legal and commercial frameworks are taught as one unit, which is useful on projects using international forms of contract.
Portfolio assessment lets a package you are already running become the basis of your submission.
Whole-life value and sustainability are mandatory content, matching the direction of Gulf procurement and green building requirements.
Programme manager, project director and commercial lead are the posts named by the awarding body, and they read the same way on a Gulf CV.

Context, all the way through. Each of the six units is written for construction: the leadership unit is about organisational direction in construction project management, the planning unit is about integrated construction project planning, delivery and control, and the research unit sits in construction project management too. The specification also names live sector concerns such as building safety, information management and supply chain complexity, which a generic syllabus would not reach.
A Portfolio of Evidence, with no examination. You assemble evidence demonstrating that you meet the learning outcomes of each unit, drawing on real project work where you can. Your centre assesses and signs off each unit, an internal quality assurer verifies the judgements, and Gatehouse moderates externally before certification. Resubmission arrangements are covered by the awarding body's published centre policies.
Gatehouse names four: senior project manager, programme manager, project director and commercial lead, plus leadership roles within construction organisations and project delivery teams. Those are the awarding body's own words rather than our estimate. It does not publish salary data or employment rates, so we are not offering any. The alternative route it describes is onto a full master's programme in construction or project management.
Not specifically. The published requirement is an honours degree, or a Level 6 qualification, in any discipline at all. Where an applicant holds neither, Gatehouse permits the centre to admit them individually once readiness for Level 7 study has been established, normally by reviewing a professional portfolio, holding a formal discussion, checking development records and references, and setting a short written task. Hands-on responsibility for delivery carries considerable weight in that assessment.
Gatehouse publishes hours rather than terms. The figures given are 360 guided learning hours set against a total qualification time of 1,200, the balance being your own study. Start dates belong to the delivering centre, not to the awarding body. Since the qualification runs under an exclusivity agreement, the sensible first step is to confirm which centre is approved to offer it and what intake pattern they operate.
It is a UK-regulated qualification listed on Ofqual's register under QAN 610/7552/8, and Gatehouse approves centres internationally. Recognition by a specific employer, ministry or professional body is their decision rather than something the awarding body can guarantee, so if you need it recognised for a particular licence or a visa route, verify that with the relevant authority before you enrol.
