A sector the region is betting on
Tourism targets across the GCC have driven heavy investment in hotels, attractions and events, and that creates demand for trained staff at every level.
The most accessible qualification in this catalogue. Qualifi calls it an open entry award, with English at around IELTS 5.5 the only published guidance. Four subjects introduce tourism, hospitality, marketing and customer service across 120 credits.
Note: Duration will be based on your experience and it can be advanced bachelors too which differs from prospects to prospects
Hospitality and tourism hire on attitude and train on the job, which leaves a lot of capable people without a qualification that says what they can do. Qualifi has removed most of the barriers to fixing that. Its entry statement for this award is a single sentence: this is an open entry qualification, with the only guidance being English competence at around IELTS 5.5.
Four subjects make up the programme. Introduction to the Tourism Industry and Introduction to the Hospitality Industry map the two sectors and how they interlock. Introduction to Marketing for Hospitality and Tourism covers how destinations and venues attract people. Introduction to Customer Service for Hospitality and Tourism handles the part guests remember.
Qualifi describes the diploma as linking to key developments in the sector, with contemporary issues identified and evaluated so that learners gain a genuine vocational understanding alongside an academic perspective. It carries 120 credits at number 603/4400/3, and the published progression route is the Qualifi Level 4 Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management or employment in the industry.
No prior qualification is required and none is published. Qualifi states the open entry position in its own words on the qualification page.
Tourism and hospitality are introduced as separate subjects, so you see how destinations and venues each operate.
Taught as a subject in its own right rather than treated as something staff either have or lack.
Marketing is framed around hospitality and tourism rather than borrowed from general business.
Qualifi publishes its own Level 4 Certificate in the same field as the progression route.
At 120 credits this is among the larger Level 3 awards in Qualifi's range.

That is what Qualifi publishes. The entry section for this award consists of one sentence stating that it is an open entry qualification, with the only guidance being that candidates have IELTS 5.5 or other evidence of English competence at that level. No prior certificate and no minimum age appear. Individual centres may still apply their own admission checks, so ask yours what it requires in practice.
Qualifi points to IELTS 5.5 or other evidence of competence at an equivalent standard, which leaves room for alternatives such as a recognised school qualification taught in English or another accepted test. It is phrased as guidance rather than as a hard threshold. Your centre will decide what it accepts, so send your evidence over early and have it confirmed before you pay anything.
That ratio is higher than on Qualifi's 60-credit awards, which list four to six subjects. The qualification page does not break credits down subject by subject, so we cannot tell you how they are distributed. Qualifi publishes a combined specification covering several of its hospitality and tourism diplomas, and that document is where the breakdown lives. We have flagged this rather than guessing at numbers.
By level and by depth. This award introduces the two industries and the commercial basics; Qualifi's Level 5 extended diploma in hospitality and tourism management sits two levels higher and assumes you already have grounding. Level 3 is comparable to school-leaving standard in England, so this is where you begin rather than where you specialise.
It introduces management principles within the sector; it does not appoint you to anything. The title contains the word management because the subject matter is managerial, not because the certificate confers a role. Employers decide who manages their operations, and they generally want experience alongside a qualification. Treat this as the knowledge base that makes the experience count for more.
The approved centre, every time. Qualifi writes and regulates the qualification and issues your certificate, but it does not teach, does not run intakes and publishes no fee for any of its awards. Anything about scheduling, delivery format, assessment dates and total cost should be put to the centre, preferably in writing before you enrol.
