Programme Overview

About this Programme

Six mandatory units set the spine. Manage team performance to support strategy. Information management and strategic decision taking. Leading a strategic management project. Strategic direction. Strategic planning. Development as a strategic manager. Read them in order and they describe a working method: decide where to go, plan it, get the information right, lead a project that proves it, and grow into the person who can keep doing that.

Then you add two units from four — finance for managers, strategic marketing, organisational change strategies, or human resource planning. That choice is the practical argument for this award over its siblings. A plant manager short on commercial vocabulary takes finance and marketing; a leader facing a restructure takes change strategies and workforce planning. Nobody carries units they will never use.

Two of the mandatory six deserve a mention on their own. Leading a Strategic Management Project means applied work rather than essays about other people's companies. Development as a Strategic Manager turns your own growth into something assessed, which is rare. It is a 120-credit award at Level 7, registered as 601/5335/0.

Why Choose

Why Choose This Programme?

01

Two units are yours to pick

Finance, marketing, organisational change or workforce planning — choose the two that address the gap in your own job.

02

A project you actually lead

Leading a Strategic Management Project is applied work, not a case study about somebody else's business.

03

Your own growth is assessed

Development as a Strategic Manager makes personal progress a graded unit rather than a closing paragraph.

04

Decisions built on information

Information management and strategic decision taking addresses the evidence behind the call, not just the call.

05

Team performance tied to strategy

The first mandatory unit links what a team delivers to what the organisation is trying to achieve.

06

Direction and planning kept separate

Strategic direction and strategic planning are distinct units, because deciding and scheduling are different skills.

An internationally recognised pathway awarded by Qualifi.

Why Leaders in the Gulf Consider This Route

01

Tailor it to the job you hold

Two optional units let a Gulf operations head add finance, or an HR lead add change strategy, without wasted study.

02

Evidence you can show an employer

A project you lead yourself produces something concrete to put in front of a promotion panel.

03

Restructuring is constant

Organisational change strategies is an option worth taking where mergers and transformation programmes are routine.

04

Multinational teams, one strategy

Linking team performance to strategic aims matters most where teams span several nationalities and sites.

05

Offered internationally

Qualifi states the qualification is available in the UK and internationally through approved centres.

06

The fee is a local question

Qualifi publishes no price. Ask approved centres in your country for a written, itemised quotation.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the optional choice work?

You take all six mandatory units, then select two from a published group of four: finance for managers, strategic marketing, organisational change strategies, and human resource planning. Eight units in total. Qualifi does not publish credit values for individual units, so we cannot tell you how much of the 120 credits the two optional ones represent. Your centre may also have practical limits on which combinations it runs in a given intake, so ask before you set your heart on a pairing.

I found a qualification with almost exactly this name from a different body. Are they the same?

No. Several awarding organisations publish Level 7 qualifications whose titles rearrange the words "strategic", "management" and "leadership", and they are genuinely different qualifications with different units, sizes and rules. The one described on this page is Qualifi's, and its regulated number is 601/5335/0. If you are comparing offers from training providers, ask each of them for the qualification number and match on that. A title alone will not tell you what you are buying.

What makes Leading a Strategic Management Project worth having?

It is applied. Rather than analysing a published case study, you lead a piece of strategic work and are assessed on it. For anyone who needs to show an employer or a promotion panel something real, that unit tends to be the most useful thing on the transcript. Qualifi does not publish the assessment detail — length, format, whether it must be based on your own organisation — so ask the centre how it runs the unit.

Can this get me onto a master's programme?

A single onward option appears on the page: a dissertation at a UK university, leading to a master's degree. That line carries no qualifying language and identifies no institution, so read it carefully. The award is a diploma, not a master's, and it confers no degree. Universities set their own admission rules and decide for themselves how much credit a Level 7 diploma earns towards their programmes. Ask the university directly, in writing, before you commit money to the diploma.

What do I need to get in?

Two things are published and only two: a Level 6 qualification, or a first degree. No minimum age appears, no English language test is specified and no references are requested, which differs from several other Qualifi Level 7 awards that do ask for all three. Because the page is silent, the sensible step is to ask your approved centre what it applies in practice — centres are entitled to add their own admission requirements.

How long, and how much?

Neither figure comes from Qualifi. Length is unpublished, price is unpublished, and this award carries no total qualification time either, leaving not even an hours estimate to work backwards from. The approved centre delivering the teaching sets the timetable and the price, because Qualifi accredits and certificates the qualification without teaching it. Get both in writing, and ask specifically whether registration, assessment and certification are inside the quoted figure.
