Programme Overview

About this Programme

Start with the unit list rather than the title, because the two do not say quite the same thing. Seven units are published, all mandatory: finance for managers, strategic direction, strategic marketing, human resource planning, marketing strategy for social enterprise, global marketing, and strategic management. Three of those seven are marketing. None is named for innovation.

That is worth stating plainly before you choose. Qualifi's own overview talks about critically evaluating and challenging current management tools and models, and about looking past the usual Anglo-American frameworks, but it offers no sentence explaining what the innovation half of the title covers and no unit carries the word. If innovation management is what you are shopping for, read the centre specification first and ask the question directly.

What the award does offer is unusual market breadth. Marketing strategy for social enterprise is published on no other Qualifi qualification, and global marketing sits beside it. Add strategic direction and strategic management and the picture is a senior manager steering an organisation towards markets. The award is 120 credits at Level 7, number 603/2900/2, with a total qualification time of 1,200 hours.

Why Choose

Why Choose This Programme?

01

A real hours figure

1,200 hours of total qualification time is published, which is rare across Qualifi's Level 7 range and useful for planning.

02

Social enterprise marketing

A full unit on marketing strategy for social enterprise, found on no other Qualifi qualification.

03

Markets beyond one country

Global marketing sits alongside strategic marketing, so reach is treated as a strategic question.

04

Direction and management together

Strategic direction and strategic management are separate units, covering where to go and how to run it.

05

Finance written for non-specialists

Finance for managers is included for people who read numbers rather than produce them.

06

Workforce planning included

Human resource planning treats staffing as part of strategy rather than an administrative afterthought.

Why This Appeals to Gulf-Based Managers

01

Markets rarely stop at the border

Gulf businesses routinely sell across several countries, and global marketing is a full unit here.

02

Social enterprise is growing regionally

Vision-led economic programmes across the GCC have pushed social and community ventures up the agenda.

03

You can plan the commitment

The published 1,200-hour figure makes it easier to judge against a demanding job than a vague "part-time".

04

Direction over day-to-day firefighting

Two units deal with setting and running strategy, which is the gap many regional managers describe.

05

Available internationally

Qualifi states the award is offered in the UK and internationally through approved centres.

06

Ask your centre for the price

No fee is published by the awarding body. Compare written quotations locally before deciding.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

The title says innovation. Where is it in the course?

We cannot point you to it, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Qualifi publishes seven units and not one is named for innovation. Its overview paragraph talks in general terms about challenging current management tools and models and going beyond the usual Anglo-American frameworks, which is not the same thing as teaching innovation management. The content may well sit inside units under other names, but that detail lives in the centre specification. Ask for it before you enrol.

What does 1,200 hours actually mean for me?

It is Qualifi's estimate of the total effort a typical learner puts in: classes or online sessions, private study, reading, preparation and assessment, all added together. At 120 credits that works out at the standard ten hours per credit. It is not a timetable and it is not a deadline — your centre decides how those hours are spread, whether over one year or two. Use it to sense-check any schedule a centre proposes to you.

Three of seven units are marketing. Is this really a marketing qualification?

It is a strategic management award with a pronounced marketing weighting, and you should go in knowing that. Strategic marketing, global marketing and marketing strategy for social enterprise make up almost half the programme. The other three and a bit cover direction, management, finance and workforce planning. If markets are where your organisation's strategic questions actually live, that balance works in your favour; if you need depth in operations or governance instead, look at the other Level 7 awards in the range.

How do I get to a master's from here?

One onward option is printed, and only one: a dissertation taken at a UK university towards a master's degree. No condition is attached to that sentence and no partner institution is identified, which means any caveat you read here has been supplied by us rather than by Qualifi. The diploma is not a master's and awards none. Any university you approach will make its own judgement about admitting you and about how much of this study it recognises. Contact them first, get the answer in writing, then choose your centre.

Do I need a degree to start?

Qualifi publishes two entry bullets and no more: a Level 6 qualification, or a first degree. Unlike its Business Strategy sibling, this award publishes no experience route, and no age minimum, English test or reference requirement is stated. Centres sometimes apply additional checks of their own, so ask yours what it expects before you assume you do or do not qualify.

What will it cost and how long will it take?

Qualifi sets neither. It publishes the hours figure, which helps, but calendar length and price both rest with whichever approved centre runs the teaching, since the awarding body accredits and certificates the qualification without teaching it. Before committing, get the start dates, the expected finish date and a full written price including registration and certification.
