No psychology background needed
The published entry requirements ask for an age minimum, not a prior degree in the subject.
Six subjects spanning psychoanalysis, cognition, biology, culture, human development and rehabilitation. Read it as an academic diploma and it stands up well. Read it as a route to practising as a psychologist and it is the wrong document entirely.
Note: Duration will be based on your experience and it can be advanced bachelors too which differs from prospects to prospects
Six subjects define this qualification. Psychoanalysis and Mental Health. Exploring Psychology. Cognitive and Biological Psychology. Qualitative Research Methodology. Social and Cultural Psychology and Psychology of Human Development. Rehabilitation Psychology. Taken together that is a broad academic sweep — the inner workings of the mind, the body underneath it, the culture around it, and how people recover.
Qualifi's own summary is narrower than its subject list. It describes the aim as understanding the main cognitive functions — perception, executive functions, language, attention — and their role in psychology. Those four are worth knowing about, but they account for roughly one of the six subjects. The description on this page is built from what the subjects actually say rather than from that summary alone, and we have flagged the mismatch rather than quietly papering over it.
Two subjects stand out as unusual at this level. Rehabilitation Psychology deals with recovery and adjustment after injury or illness. Qualitative Research Methodology sits apart from the statistics-first approach many psychology programmes take, focusing on interviews, meaning and interpretation. The award carries 120 credits at Level 7 under the number 610/2064/3.
Recovery and adjustment after injury or illness gets its own place on the subject list, which is uncommon.
Interviews, meaning and interpretation, rather than a statistics-first approach to research.
One subject covers both, so mental processes are studied alongside the physical system producing them.
Social and cultural psychology sits with human development, treating people in context rather than in isolation.
The published entry requirements name an age minimum and nothing about previous qualifications.
Accredited at Level 7 and carried on the Regulated Qualifications Framework under 610/2064/3.

No. The titles clinical psychologist, counselling psychologist, educational psychologist and the rest are protected in the UK, and using them requires registration with the Health and Care Professions Council, which has its own route and does not recognise this diploma. Nor is the award accredited by the British Psychological Society or linked to Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership. Qualifi claims none of those things; we are simply making sure the absence is visible. Check directly with the BPS and the HCPC before you plan a career around any qualification.
Because the published outcomes do not hold up. Qualifi lists three, which is unusually few for a 120-credit award, and two of them read as descriptions of how a course might be taught — computer practical sessions, example data sets provided to students — rather than statements of what a learner will be able to do. One of those two refers to a unit called "Issues in Scientific Research" that is nowhere in the published subject list, and it talks about statistics although the only research subject here is qualitative. We could have tidied all that away. Showing it seemed more useful.
Almost certainly not. Gatehouse Awards publishes a Level 7 Diploma in Psychology with a different qualification number and a different size, and training providers list both without always making the distinction clear. The qualification described on this page is Qualifi's, registered as 610/2064/3. When you compare offers, ask each provider for the qualification number and the awarding body in writing, and match on those. Titles are not unique; numbers are.
Qualifi publishes no such requirement. Three things are listed: you must be nineteen or older, you need IELTS 6 or an accepted equivalent if English is not the language you grew up with, and two referees are normally expected. Previous study in psychology, or in anything else, goes unmentioned. That is striking for a Level 7 award, where a Level 6 qualification or first degree is the usual expectation. Since centres may apply stricter rules of their own, confirm the position with yours rather than relying on the published minimum.
Qualifi names the subject but publishes no description of its content, so we can tell you what the field generally concerns rather than what this particular syllabus covers. Rehabilitation psychology deals with how people adjust after injury, illness or disability — motivation, coping, identity, and the psychological side of recovery alongside the physical one. For the actual topics, assessment and reading, ask your centre for the subject descriptor from the specification.
Qualifi publishes neither figure, and no total qualification time either, so there is not even an hours estimate to reason from. Both answers rest with the approved centre teaching the programme, because the awarding body's role is to write, accredit and certificate the qualification rather than to deliver it. Before committing, get the start date, the expected finish, and a written price that spells out registration and certification separately.
