Strategy has to reach the site
Across GCC industry the distance between a written policy and site reality is the whole problem, and this award is aimed at closing it.
Written, in Qualifi's own words, for managers with the authority to turn organisational strategy into operational performance. Six subjects, from safety culture to sustainability and ethics, closing with a research project you plan yourself.
Note: Duration will be based on your experience and it can be advanced bachelors too which differs from prospects to prospects
Awarding bodies rarely describe their intended reader this precisely. Qualifi says this diploma develops safety management skills for managers who have the authority and the personal attributes to translate organisational strategy into effective operational performance. That sentence does a lot of work. It is not aimed at the person carrying out inspections; it is aimed at the person who decides what the organisation's safety position is and then has to make it real.
Six subjects follow that logic. Health and Safety Management Practice. Effectiveness of Health and Safety Management Systems. Factors Affecting Risk and Strategic Risk Intervention. Strategic Commitment to Health and Well-Being. Sustainability and Ethics in Health and Safety Practice. Advanced Research Methods. Notice how far the last two sit from a hazard checklist — ethics and sustainability are treated as part of the safety professional's remit, not as a separate corporate exercise.
The entry requirements carry a detail found nowhere else in Qualifi's range: an honours degree at 2.2, named with its classification. Applicants must also be at least twenty-one. Credit value is 120 at Level 7, and the framework entry reads 610/2295/0.
Qualifi names its audience as managers with the authority to turn strategy into operational performance.
Effectiveness of Health and Safety Management Systems asks whether a system actually works, which is a harder question.
A subject devoted to the factors driving risk and to intervening at the level where they are decided.
Strategic Commitment to Health and Well-Being puts occupational wellbeing alongside physical safety.
One subject covers both, framed as part of the safety professional's responsibility.
An honours degree at 2.2 with sector experience is published as an entry route — the only classification Qualifi states anywhere.

Q
Across GCC industry the distance between a written policy and site reality is the whole problem, and this award is aimed at closing it.
Contractors working for regional operators are routinely audited on system effectiveness, not just paperwork.
Occupational wellbeing is a live regulatory and reputational issue across the region's outdoor industries.
Sustainability and ethical practice content speaks directly to multi-tier subcontracting arrangements.

It is not, and nothing on Qualifi's page suggests otherwise. NEBOSH is a separate awarding organisation with its own qualifications and its own assessments; this diploma is awarded by Qualifi and regulated by Ofqual on the Regulated Qualifications Framework. No equivalence between the two is published, no exemption exists in either direction, and holding one does not get you the other. Employers and tender documents often name NEBOSH specifically, so read the requirement before you choose.
We cannot say that, and we are not going to. Qualifi does link a leaflet carrying the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management's branding alongside this qualification, which is a fact. What the page does not contain is any statement that the award is IIRSM approved or recognised, or that it entitles you to a membership grade. We have not read the leaflet, so we claim nothing from it. If IIRSM membership matters to you, ask IIRSM what this qualification counts for.
Three things have to line up. You must be at least twenty-one. You need either a Level 6 qualification, or an honours degree classified at 2.2 together with relevant knowledge and experience in the occupational health and safety sector. And if English is not your first language, IELTS 6 or an accepted equivalent is required, with two references normally asked for. That named 2.2 classification is unusual — no other Qualifi qualification in this listing states a degree grade — so it is worth taking literally.
Because Qualifi does not put one on the page. Its published routes here are a Level 8 diploma, employment in an associated profession, and further studies at a university — the last of those stated in general terms, with no degree named and no institution identified. Several sister awards at Level 7 do advertise a master's top-up. This one does not, and rather than borrow that claim from elsewhere we have reported exactly what appears. If a specific master's is your aim, ask the university directly what it would accept.
Quite a lot, despite the overlapping title. The International Diploma publishes eight subjects including ergonomics, industrial hygiene and fire safety, twelve learning outcomes, and an entry route built around engineering degrees or three years of managerial experience — no age limit, no English test. This award publishes six subjects, seven outcomes, and the full gated entry block described above. In posture, this one is the strategic award and the International Diploma is the more operational and technically specified one.
Qualifi sets neither. It writes, accredits and certificates the qualification but runs no teaching, so the schedule and the fee are decided by the approved centre you study with. No total qualification time is published for this award, meaning there is no official hours estimate to test a proposed timetable against. Request start dates, a realistic end date, and a fee broken out so registration and certification are visible as separate lines.
