English law governs many regional contracts
Cross-border commercial agreements across the Gulf frequently choose English law and English forums.
Built for graduates whose degree was in something else entirely. Eight classic foundation subjects — contract, tort, criminal, land, equity and trusts among them — studied at master's level without pretending to be a route to practice.
Note: Duration will be based on your experience and it can be advanced bachelors too which differs from prospects to prospects
Qualifi states the purpose in its own words, and unusually it also states the limit. The aim is to give non-law graduates a grounding in foundation law subjects as a sound basis to continue further in a law career. Then, in the same paragraph: "This is not a preparatory programme for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) examinations but is aimed to provide a basis for further legal study and/or training." Awarding bodies rarely volunteer that sort of sentence.
What you study is solid and familiar: Legal Foundations, Company Law and Practice, Contract Law and Disputes, Public Law and Law of the European Union, Torts, Land Law and Property, Criminal Law and Practice, and Equity and Trusts. Anyone who has looked at a law degree syllabus will recognise most of that list.
Size on the register: 120 credits, Level 7, number 610/2558/6. Study hours are not published.
Contract, tort, criminal, land, public law, equity and trusts — the subjects a law syllabus is normally built on.
Company Law and Practice sits alongside the classic subjects, which suits anyone heading towards commercial work.
The stated audience is people whose first degree was in another field, so no prior legal study is assumed.
Qualifi publishes its own limitation about the SQE rather than leaving buyers to work it out.
Experience in the legal sector appears among the published ways in, not only formal qualifications.
Qualifi states the qualification is available in the UK and internationally through approved centres.

Q
Cross-border commercial agreements across the Gulf frequently choose English law and English forums.
Several regional financial centres operate courts built on common law principles and procedure.
Compliance, contracts and in-house support staff often need the subject knowledge without the practising title.
For a non-law graduate it provides a documented grounding before applying for further legal study.
Approved centres offer Qualifi qualifications outside the United Kingdom.

By itself, no, and it should not be bought as a shortcut. Admission as a solicitor in England and Wales runs through the Solicitors Regulation Authority, which sets the SQE assessments and the qualifying work experience requirement. Qualifi states plainly that this award is not an SQE preparation course, and no SRA recognition or exemption is published for it. What the page does say is that the content is aligned with aspects of the SQE domains, meaning subject overlap, not assessment preparation. If admission is your aim, read the SRA's published route first and decide where, if anywhere, this fits.
Both, and that is why we print them together. The subject matter overlaps the Functioning Legal Knowledge and Practical Legal Skills and Knowledge domains that the SQE tests, which is what "aligned with aspects of the SQE" refers to. Preparing someone to sit and pass those assessments is a different exercise, with different practice material and different coaching, and Qualifi says this award does not do it. Reported separately, either sentence misleads. Reported together, the position is clear enough to act on.
Qualifi publishes the subject title, Public Law and Law of the European Union, and says nothing about how it treats the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union. We are not going to invent a scope for it. Retained EU law still shapes large parts of UK statute, and EU law remains directly relevant to anyone dealing with trade into the single market, so the subject is far from redundant. For the actual treatment, the centre specification dated April 2023 is the document to ask for.
The approved centre says so, because Qualifi does not. The awarding body writes the qualification, regulates it and issues the certificate; delivery, scheduling and pricing belong to the centre you enrol with. No study-hours figure is published for this award, so you have nothing official to measure a proposed timetable against. Ask for the start date, the expected finish date, and the full charge including registration and certification, then compare two centres on identical terms.
Unclear, and worth settling before you pay. Qualifi's published aims mention the opportunity for research and in-depth study of a particular area of law through a research project or dissertation. No such subject appears in the published list of eight, all of which are taught law subjects. Either the research element sits inside one of them, or it appears in the specification and not on the web page. The centre can tell you which, and the answer changes how much independent work you are taking on.
Different legal worlds. This one covers the domestic foundations — contract, tort, criminal, land, public law, equity and trusts — the subjects that underpin legal education generally, and it is aimed at non-law graduates building a base. The international business law award skips all of that and goes straight to cross-border commerce: trade law, financial crime, intellectual property, arbitration. One gives you the grammar of law; the other assumes you want to work on commercial transactions that cross borders.
