Management models imported wholesale
Qualifi's stated move beyond Anglo-American models speaks directly to leaders adapting frameworks locally.
Half the size of the other Level 7 awards, and deliberately so. Just three subjects, each one built around continuing professional development, and a requirement to carry out original research of your own rather than simply read what others have written.
Note: Duration will be based on your experience and it can be advanced bachelors too which differs from prospects to prospects
Sixty credits, not the usual hundred and twenty. Three subjects, not six or eight: Contemporary Issues Underpinning Leadership in CPD, Developing Research and CPD, and Effective Communication through CPD. Every title carries those three letters, and Qualifi describes the whole award as continuing professional development. Anyone presenting it as a full postgraduate workload is misreading it.
What makes it heavier than the credit figure suggests is the research. One published outcome asks you to conduct primary research in the field of leadership — gathering your own evidence rather than summarising somebody else's. Another asks you to critically evaluate and integrate theories, models and methods in formal research. Qualifi also states an intention worth quoting: to look past the usual examination of Anglo-American management models.
Registered under number 603/4994/3, it is the most compact award at this level in the listing, and no study-hours figure is published for it.
The subject here is how leaders behave, which sets it apart from the strategy-focused awards at this level.
Gathering your own evidence on a leadership question is a published outcome, not an optional extra.
Qualifi states the intention of looking past the usual Anglo-American models, which suits an international cohort.
Sixty credits is a defined, finite piece of study for someone already carrying a demanding role.
A whole subject on communicating ideas appropriately to different audiences and formats.
Reflecting on your own experience and what it has taught you runs through the published outcomes.

Because it was built as continuing professional development rather than as a full postgraduate course, and Qualifi says so repeatedly. All three subject titles contain the letters CPD. The practical effect is a shorter, tighter piece of study aimed at someone already leading people who wants structured time on the ethics of doing it. Be careful how you describe it afterwards: it is a Level 7 qualification, genuinely, but at half the credit value of the diplomas sitting alongside it, and admissions tutors and employers can read a credit figure.
Qualifi publishes the requirement — conduct primary research in the field of leadership — without publishing a format, a length or an assessment method. In plain terms, primary research means collecting evidence yourself: interviews, observation, survey responses, case material from your own organisation, then analysing it honestly rather than confirming what you already believed. It is the element that makes this award weigh more than its sixty credits suggest. Ask your centre what form it takes, what ethical approval it needs and how it is marked.
It is Qualifi's own phrase, and we are quoting rather than interpreting it heavily. Most leadership theory taught in English comes out of British and North American business schools and carries their assumptions about hierarchy, individual achievement and how disagreement is handled. Stating an intention to look past that suggests room for other traditions and for the circumstances learners actually work in. How far any given centre delivers on it will vary, so it is a fair question to put to the one you are considering.
There is no such thing in any regulated sense, and this award certainly does not create one. It carries no chartered status, no membership of a management or leadership institute, and no professional licence. What it provides is evidence of regulated study at Level 7 in a specific area of practice, plus a piece of original research you can point to. Anyone seeking a chartered designation should go to the relevant institute and ask what it recognises before assuming this contributes.
Whatever your approved centre charges, since Qualifi publishes nothing on cost or duration. Do not assume half the credits means half the price of a 120-credit diploma; centres price on their own delivery costs, and the research element needs supervision time. With no study-hours total against the award, nothing official exists to judge a proposed schedule by. Ask what tuition covers, what supervision you get for the research, and whether registration and certification sit inside the quoted figure.
Subject matter, mostly. The strategic management and leadership awards at this level deal with direction setting, organisational performance, finance and change — what the organisation should do. This one deals with conduct: how decisions are reached, whose interests are weighed, and how a leader accounts for that. It is also half their size and expects original research instead of broader coverage. People sometimes take one of each over time, but they are not substitutes for one another.
